Michael and his angels fought against the dragon,and the dragon fought and his angels.And the great dragon was cast out,that old serpent,called the devil,and satan,which deceived the whole world.
Just as the archangel subdued the old dragon,so shall I bend this house to my will.I will bring light to those dismal corridors of my childhood,I will open up the locked doors and fill the empty rooms.And set above it all an image of the triumph of reason over the irrational.
Harriet is plagued by nightmares.I blame the Lewis Carroll,but she will insist on reading and rereading the books.Perhaps things will settle when the work on the house is finished.
